Final chance to vote in local election – your options


Do you have your voting papers but missed the postal deadline?

The options available to vote, now that the last postal date has passed, are to drop off your vote at the following locations:

  • Council offices, 19 Kitchener St Martinborough, 8am–4.30pm on Weds–Fri; or 9am–12 noon on Election Day, Sat 12 Oct;
  • Greytown and Featherston libraries, during normal opening hours on Weds-Fri 9.30am to 5pm and Saturday 12 Oct-  10am to 12 noon. This is a great option if you can’t get to Martinborough;
  • In Wellington, at the Special Vote Hub at Arapaki Manners Library and Service Centre, 12 Manners Street between 8am–7pm on Weds–Fri, or 9am–12noon on Sat 12 Oct;
  • In Wellington, at the Train Station between 6.30 – 9.30am and 4pm – 6:30pm on Weds–Fri this week.

Voting papers, along with the candidate handbook will have been sent to you by post if you’re enrolled. Full instructions on how to vote are included with your voting papers.

Not yet enrolled or didn’t receive your voting papers request a Special Vote

You can still enrol to vote – go to to enrol online or phone the Electoral Commission on 0800 36 56 76 if you need help or have questions. The last day to enrol to vote is Fri 11 October.

Then request a Special Vote to vote in this local election. To do this, either phone Council on 06 306 9611 or go in to the Council offices, address and opening times as above; or go to the Special Vote Hub at Arapaki Manners Library and Service Centre, 12 Manners Street, Wellington.
