What should we do now?

  • If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t go to work or school. Don’t socialise.
  • If you have cold or flu symptoms call your doctor or Healthline and make sure you get tested.
  • Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow, and regularly disinfect shared surfaces.

If you're experiencing financial hardship during this time, please contact our Rates Team on 06 306 9611 as soon as possible. We would be happy to discuss rates relief payment options with you if you are in, or foresee, financial difficulty. 

Are you a foreign national needing help?

A foreign national is someone who is not a permanent citizen or resident of New Zealand. This includes tourists, seasonal workers and temporary migrants on a student visa, working holiday visa, an essential skills visa, or those who are in the country without a current visa.

Temporary accommodation service

If you don't have somewhere safe to stay, or have been temporarily displaced from your home due to COVID-19 please call the Temporary Accommodation Service on 0508 754 163. This call centre is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
