What is the Annual Plan consultation about?

The financial year 2020/21 will be the third year of implementation of our Long Term Plan (LTP) 2018/28. The LTP sets the Council's strategic direction in terms of our vision for the future of our district. The Annual Plan Consultation Document for 2020/21 takes into account new information, risks and opportunities, and responds to these with a more detailed plan focused on the upcoming year.

We’re consulting this year because there are some priority ‘must do’ projects, which we want to share with you, and some other proposals, or 'Discussion Topics', which we would like your feedback on. Some of these will help shape the initiatives we consult further on in the LTP refresh next year.

Discussion topics in the Consultation Document

1. Water supply and water resilience

2. Community and recreation

A. Continuing extended swimming pool hours

B. Greytown Sports and Recreation Hub

3. Land transport

4. Waste minimisation

5. Building capability

A note on privacy: submissions are public. Your name and submission will be included in papers that are available to the media and the public. Your submission will only be used for the purpose of making a decision on the proposal.

Applications for Grant Funding

We’re changing the way Council receives and considers grants to support community groups and youth for the 2020/21 year. We have previously allocated grants as part of the Annual Plan process. From this year, Council will be setting the grant budget when it adopts the Annual Plan on 30 June and will consider grant applications after that date. We will publish a new grants policy and timetable for applications on our website in May.
