Update on Martinborough town water network flushing – Day Four

4.12pm, 9 May

Water should be back on for most Blue Zone properties within the next 30 minutes; the tobies are being turned on now. The exception is Grey Street, between Roberts St and Jellicoe St, where a burst main needs to be repaired.  We aim to have water back on for properties here by 6 pm.

Flushing has gone moderately well today, although it took longer than expected to turn all the tobies off prior to flushing, which has resulted in a slight overrun of the 4pm deadline. Scouring seems to have picked up smaller residual manganese and biofilm than in other areas.

Please remember to run your taps until clear water comes through – preferably an external tap.  Don’t forget to boil your water before consuming.

Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience and disturbance caused by the current scouring and flushing exercise and thank you for patience.
