Tighter water restrictions for South Wairarapa

15 February – With immediate effect Council requires that watering of gardens be only by use of handheld hoses. No sprinklers or other irrigation devices may be used.

This is because of the lowering levels of our rivers and in line with the conditions of our resource consent.

Watering can continue as usual on alternate days, even numbered properties on even numbered dates and odd numbered properties on odd numbered dates.

Note for Martinborough residents, you are permitted, and encouraged, to give your gardens a good water while you are flushing water from your tap on Saturday morning.

Thank You for Your Conservation Efforts

The South Wairarapa District Council would like to acknowledge and thank residents of the district for their continued efforts to conserve water.  Many people are finding ways to reduce excessive use as well as identifying and fixing leaks.
